Darwin Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Womens Shelter (DAIWS)

Regina Bennett is the Manager of the Darwin Aboriginal and Islander Women’s Shelter Incorporated (DAIWS), a position she has held for over 21 years. Prior to her involvement with DAIWS, Regina worked in roles with the NT and Commonwealth Governments for over 20 years, inclusive of sitting on the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission (ATSIC).

Regina has gained tertiary qualifications in Indigenous Leadership through the Australian Indigenous Leadership Centre. Regina has a passion to help people and generously gives her time to be involved at Board level for a number of Darwin based Indigenous organisations.

Regina is a Director on the Ironbark Aboriginal Corporation Board, a position she has held since its inception on June 1st 2000.
