Jasmine Newman is a proud Wiradjuri woman with strong ties to the Dharug community and the Managing Director of Killara Services, Australia’s largest Aboriginal-owned cleaning company. In 2022, she was named Indigenous Businesswoman of the Year by Supply Nation, recognising her leadership and commitment to the Indigenous business sector.
Jasmine’s drive is deeply influenced by her great-grandfather, Herbert “Bert” Groves, a prominent Aboriginal activist who fought for equal access to education and employment. Inspired by his legacy, she continues his mission by creating sustainable employment opportunities through Killara Services.
Under her leadership, Killara prioritises Indigenous employment, cultural safety, and community empowerment. The company’s impact has earned national recognition, including recent nominations as a finalist for Certified Supplier of the Year and the Sam Tjengala Reuben Award at the Supplier Diversity Awards.
Jasmine is passionate about building a better future for Indigenous Australians. Through her work at Killara, she not only honours her family’s legacy but also leads meaningful change for the next generation.
